For a restaurant group expanding at speed, visibility into performance is absolutely key. Teleferic Barcelona, the brand bringing authentic Spanish cuisine to California, is planning to double its footprint in just a year. To sustain that pace, they’ve turned to Tenzo to give them the visibility over their business that expansion at scale requires.
We recently spoke to Santi Juan Garcia, the group’s Opening Operations and Business Analytics Manager, who straddles two worlds: orchestrating new restaurant launches while ensuring data across the business is reliable, consistent, and ready to guide strategy.
“My goal in my role is to analyse trends and provide meaningful insights for the operations team to make data-driven decisions.”

From Dispersed Data to Actionable Insights
Before adopting Tenzo, Teleferic faced a familiar challenge: their data was scattered across multiple systems. Their first port of call: a custom Business Intelligence project. But their custom ERP was going to take over a year to build out, and expertise and infrastructure were going to be expensive. With expansion accelerating, the team needed a faster route to clarity.
“We had a pretty good tech stack, but all the information was dispersed. So we realised we needed to aggregate the data as soon as possible to begin making powerful decisions.”
Choosing Tenzo: A Best-of-Breed Data Platform
Teleferic deliberately takes a best-of-breed approach to technology. They pair specialised platforms for POS, stock management, and scheduling, then rely on Tenzo to be the glue that connects them.
“All our platforms are good in one specific area, but when we can put them all in Tenzo, that’s when we can connect all the dots.”
Onboarding Made Simple
Implementing Tenzo was refreshingly straightforward. Integrations were easy to set up, historical data was imported quickly, and Tenzo’s customer success managers provided steady support.
“The platform is user-friendly, and it’s quick to integrate with all the platforms that we are currently using. A problem that we had with the previous Business Intelligence project was that it was going to be very difficult to integrate with our existing stack.”
Making Data Work for the Whole Team
Tenzo’s biggest early win was automating reports that once drained hours in Excel. Today, the team can access structured data with a click. Weekly cards sent via Tenzo give managers the information they need without manual effort.
“For example, our Back-of-house team was manually doing reports in Excel and they were taking a lot of time.”
But with Tenzo, within two minutes of pushing a button, they were able to create the reports they needed.
“I said, “Here you go, every Monday you can send these three cards to all the management.” Then you’re good to go. It’s the same data but better structured, and more efficient for everybody.”

Looking Ahead: Forecasting and Next-Level Visibility
For the team, Tenzo is a tool that is going to grow with them. Tenzo provides a user-friendly platform that builds the team’s confidence with data, but that can eventually be used in tandem with further data visualisation platforms.
Teleferic’s vision is to transform clean, accurate data into forecasts that shape strategy: staffing against weather trends, adjusting purchasing to expected demand, and empowering managers to make smart calls in real time.
“Our main goal is to make decisions fully relying on data; to be more efficient and provide the teams with easy insight. Instead of spending time manually inputting data into Excel, they can focus on actions that bring value.”
